Iceland is widely known as 'The Land of Fire and Ice' and the extreme contrasts in Icelandic nature are a huge part of the appeal. Diverse and beautiful, Iceland is home to some of the largest glaciers in Europe, as well as some of the world's most active volcanoes.

How would you describe Iceland's landscape?  Its landscape's is characterized by waterfalls, geysers, volcanoes, black sand beaches and otherworldly steaming lava fields. Iceland has very mild, coastal weather, stemming from the Gulf Stream. The weather is also affected by the East Greenland polar current curving south-eastwards round the north and east coasts.
